Miyekow drops his first mixtape, No Parachutes

Recording No Parachutes was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life. I used a Shure KSM44a, Avid Mbox mini, pair of KRK Rokit 5’s, Pro Tools 11, a MacBook Pro, cheap headphones and lots of meditation. I’d go back and forth in the rain and snow to check my mixes in the car, attempting to master the songs best I could. I faced soooo many obstacles, blocks, days of defeat and failure. Before this I’d been holding an idea of perfection in my head and it was crippling my ability to create and publish work. The other day @bigg.dann said something to me that was so profound….. “Bro think about perfect math! It’s said that 360 degrees is perfect math and one year is 365 days. God gave us 5 extra days because he knows we’re human and we aren’t perfect; yet perfection is in us.” I didn’t have a budget for an amazing top notch studio or for an amazing engineer to help me. Although one day I will have all of these things, I used what I had and let go of this idea of perfection. Perfection is in you all, sometimes you gotta jump to realize it. Today I turn 25!!!
